I totally agree with your sentiment, I have to say I disagree with telling people that their feelings are wrong.
“If you believe that just being “good enough” is acceptable or that having “just enough” is ok, you are wrong.”
Sometimes the blessing is having “just enough” – for now! Then the step is – “Take CHARGE of your life and DREAM BIG!”
Just a thought.
Arla,
Thank you for your comments. Agreed, “wrong” is a strong word but I was trying to convey a sense of urgency. I am with you about people accepting where they are but I highly encourage action to move forward. 🙂
Blessings,
Dina
Love, love, love this, Dina! The line that says ‘your past does not dictate your present or your future’ especially resonated with me. And I didn’t have a problem with the word ‘wrong’. I think it evokes the strength of feeling of the preceding statement, and a powerful word is needed here.
Susan,
So glad you LOVED this post! 🙂 Sometimes I write for myself too. It’s always a reminder of never giving up. 🙂
Take care,
Dina
For what I´ve seen on line, a lot of people are struggling to feel “good enough”. If that step still beyond their reach is not even good enough yet, the bar is disappointingly high.
The concept is awesome for people who are already on a higher ground and ready to move.
The struggle to feel “good enough” is because we were taught that at an early age. If we realize this and get the proper help, everyone can move to “good enough” and then demand more. 🙂
I like the phrase “No one creates your limitations but you” we do that to ourselves so often.
Thanks for the reminder – Carrie
Carrie,
That line is one of my favorites. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great day,
Dina
As someone who got by with “just enough” for decades, I can attest that it’s wrong. I’m tired of too much political correctness and boo-hooing about hurt feelings these days. It’s time to stand up for what you believe in, and letting people suffer in their “not enoughness” is just plain wrong! Good for you for saying so.
Amethyst,
Thank for your confirmation of my stand on this issue. Too many people are taught to be ok with “just enough” and it is wrong. We need to embrace the true greatness that resides in each of us and help make this a better world to live in.
Blessings,
Dina
Dina, It is the paradigm: This is it and I am Satisfied (Contentment with what you have and where you are)
vs
How do I create More and Better? (Accomplishing dreams, vision and goals)
At least that is the way I see it! Way to help people move forward!
Arla,
Thank you! When we can see the amazing potential in others, its hard not to try to help them. 🙂
Take care,
Dina
