The quality of your life depends on the attitude you choose to have everyday. Whatever you focus on the most, you manifest, whether by choice or by intention.

Have you ever known someone who had a terrible attitude? Perhaps they were extremely negative and pessimistic and not much fun to be around; or they complained non-stop about how terrible their life was.  Did you find it draining to be in their presence?

A negative attitude will not only make you miserable, but everyone around you too. So why would you choose a negative attitude?

A positive attitude, on the other hand, turns you into a person that everyone wants to be with; a person that constantly experiences great things, and a person who loves their life!  Do you want to be that kind of person?  If so, read on for some easy ways to develop a positive attitude.

1) Do what you love.  This applies to hobbies and fun activities, but it also pertains to one of the biggest parts of your life your work!  Do you enjoy your job?  Are you spending most of your time on something that makes you feel purposeful and fulfilled?  If not, consider exploring other career options and moving toward a job you’ll love.  When you regularly do things that make you happy, you can’t help but feel better about yourself and your life, which fosters a positive attitude.

2) Expect the best, always.  It’s easy to get into the habit of seeing doom and gloom in every situation, but doing so keeps you forever focused on the negative.  Instead, make a conscious decision to expect the best, even if your first impulse is to think negatively.  Affirm as often as you can, “This is going to work out great!  Wonderful things are going to happen today!”  The more you do it the more you’ll begin to believe it, and the more you’ll begin to experience just that.

3) Build yourself up.  Think and speak positively to and about yourself every day.  Most of us are in the habit of talking down to ourselves, which leaves us feeling hopeless, frustrated and pessimistic.  Get into the habit of building yourself up with positive self-talk and positive thoughts. Affirm your good qualities and downplay your negative qualities.  Affirm that you are a work in progress; not perfect but great nonetheless!

4) Build others up.  As often as you can, make an effort to encourage, support and compliment the people you encounter each day.  That goes for people you know as well as strangers you meet in your daily travels.  The more you focus on emphasizing the positive in others the more likeable you’re going to be, and the better you’re going to feel about yourself too!

5) Think strength.  The more you worry about your weaknesses and failures the more pessimistic and negative you’re going to feel.  Instead, consistently affirm your strengths, talents and capabilities.  You’ll end up feeling empowered and in control of your circumstances, which cannot help but improve your attitude!

Love and blessings,
Dina Marie Blas

This is a vision board! (Feel free to click on the image to get a closer look.) So you might be thinking, what is so important about creating a vision board and why should I have one? I’m so glad you asked. 🙂 Vision boards are tools you can use to help you:

  • focus on the future you would like to have
  • visualize one particular goal you’d like to achieve
  • celebrate a special moment in your life
  • materialize your yearly intentions
  • reinforce your personal affirmations

The possibilities are truly endless. So let me answer your questions for a better understanding.

What is so important about creating one?

Well, it is important because you are important. Let me explain. As human beings we tend to get busy, a lot. Our lives are filled with appointments, family, friends, activities, careers, sports, and so forth. Who has time to “remember” to focus on what’s really important? Having a vision board solves this issue immediately. It can be a personally crafted reminder hanging on your wall at home or in the office, strategically placed so you will see it everyday and remember the future you are trying to create. A wonderful token display of where you want to go, who you want to be and what you want to have. The more you are able to tell the universe what you would like to manifest, the more it works to help you achieve it.

Why should I have one?

Simply put, you can’t afford NOT to have one. Your dreams and aspirations are too important not to be made a priority in your life. Having a vision board will not only help you focus on what is important to you, but it would also help you remember what is important for your soul. There is a part of us, I call our spiritual being, that craves to fulfill its purpose on this earth. You know it’s there because you’ve felt it. Use this tool to help you meditate and manifest the very essence of what makes you happy. And brining joy into your life is all that matters, isn’t it? 🙂 In a world that is moving faster than a speeding bullet, having an opportunity to slow down and ask for what you want is crucial.

I encourage you to find the time to create one on your own or find a vision board event in your neighborhood and share this amazing experience with your friends. Personally, I will be hosting 2 vision board events in January in the Dallas area so if you are so inclined or know someone who lives in the area who would be interested, please click here to find out more.

Love and Blessings,
Dina Marie Blas

Change.  One of the most misunderstood words in the English language.  It’s true isn’t it?  People somehow fear this undeniable fact of life when they should actually be celebrating it.  What’s the saying, “The only constant thing in this world is change”?  You can say that again.  It kind of reminds me of something I hear Texans say about the weather, “Give it 10 minutes and it’ll change again.”  And as most Texans know, if you live here, you just have to “accept” it.

One thing we all know is that life is unpredictable.  We’re usually not ready for what comes our way.  We’re content living our lives one day at a time, one month at time, etc.  What happens when life throws you a curve ball and you’re left wondering what the heck just happened?  How did life pass me by without me knowing it?  I’ve been at my job for how long?  How did my children grow up so fast?  Where did all this grey hair on the top of my head come from?

Many think that change is evil, unwelcome, or a royal pain in the butt.  Some may even curse it when it happens out of nowhere (that’s usually how it happens).  What’s wrong with change I ask?  All it does it allow you broaden your horizons, see a different side.  I, on the other hand, welcome change into my life with a passion.  Really!  Why?  It allows me to continue to learn as a human being, to try new things.  It gives me the opportunity to share and learn from others.  It gives me new insight into new situations and new ways of doing things.  It promotes me to think outside the box.  It allows me to re-evaluate my life on every level and become a better person.  It forces me out of my comfort zone.  It proves that I can succeed no matter what the situation is.  Change makes me see the world in a new light each and every time it happens and I love it for that.  It’s one of the reasons I am who I am today.

If you welcome change into your life, you won’t be scared of the unknown anymore.  If you accept that the world and that your life can mutate at any moment, just knowing that should ease your fears.  Knowing that you don’t know when something will happen, is a very powerful concept.  Think about it for a minute.  If you accept that you know that you don’t know, the pressure’s off to know, right?  I write what’s in my heart, not what’s in my head.  I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything or when something is going to happen and I’m ok with that.  I don’t want to know everything because I’d rather go through life exploring and discovering all that life has to offer.  Isn’t that our adventure of living?

In my personal life, change could have been my middle name.  From the death of my father when I was 12, attending several different schools before high school, a war, a new country, a new culture, learning to drive at the age of 20, new friends, new jobs, etc.  We’ve all got our stories haven’t we?  That’s my point.  If you take a look back at the life you’ve lived, think about all the changes that you’ve experienced and take a close look at how you dealt with each situation.  Are you a better person because of them?  Did you make decisions you may not have before?  Would you have done something different?  No matter what the answer, those changes molded your future experiences and perceptions to come.

This is what you have to remember about change, no matter when it presents itself to you, just ask yourself these questions, “How can I use this change to my benefit?” and “What can I learn about myself during this change?”  Just answering these 2 questions will allow you to be in control of the situation.  All you have to do is accept that change will continue to be a part of your life every day and then let go of the “control” steering wheel.  You’ll almost start to expect change to happen and it will no longer make you cringe or roll your eyes.  Change is not trying to take over your life or give you a hard time.  It is merely testing you to see how you react, how you respond.  Are you going to learn something?  Or are you going to continue to struggle in a losing battle by ignoring the change and try to live your life in the status quo?  It’s your choice, but choose wisely.

Adapting to change can really be as easy as you “want” to make it.  What will you do the next time change comes knocking at your door?  (Don’t look now, but I think I see something peeking around the corner)

Blessings,
