A friend of mine asked me a very interesting and powerful question the other day and I wanted to share my answer for her with you.

My friend:

“How do you know you are going down the right path? You always seem so sure….and I doubt myself all the time….to the point that I won’t go down the path I am feeling drawn to go down….”

Dina:

After some thought, here is what I wrote back to her…

” I’m actually not sure at all sometimes that I’m going down the right path. I just take a chance that I might be and then go with it. The idea is to step forward in faith and take what comes.

To know if you’re going down the right path is subjective. It all depends on how the person sees the world. Do they know what they want out of life? Are they confident about what they want? Can they ask for what they want?

When you live your life, you have to live YOUR life. Too many people live their lives based on what other people “think” or what other people “expect” of them. I do neither because I value myself and how God created me. We were all born to do amazing things. We just have to believe that and then step into it.

My questions to you are…Why do you doubt your path? Who are you trying to please if not for yourself? Are you afraid of failing, finding nothing or being disappointed? Find out what your “doubt” is all about and you will find your answers.

I am confident because I “choose” to be. It doesn’t mean that I am. ” ~ Dina

So, what I am trying to say is basically that you won’t know unless you try…or until you take that first step…or until you decide that moving forward is more important that standing still. Confidence is built but “doing”. It may start as a thought in your mind but without action, nothing happen. Building confidence is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Step 1: Decide what you want to be better at

Step 2: Create a plan on how to accomplish it

Step 3: Put your plan into ACTION (this is the most important part)

After you’ve gotten some confidence, destiny takes note and starts to align itself with you.  Knowing that you can handle the amazing tasks ahead of you (good, bad or indifferent), it turns on the faucet and let’s your journey flow.

***Now my questions to the readers: Are you following the right path for you? Can you tell? Do you care to know? Are you having trouble knowing if you’re on the right path? Are you ready to be the person you are destined to be? If you’re not sure, then DECIDE~ your life awaits you!

Please share your thoughts in the comments section. I’d love to hear them!

It’s not about being a girl or a boy…
White or black
Rich or poor
Tall or short
Fat or skinny
Gay or straight
Confident or shy
Successful
Disabled…

It’s about being “human”…

Being loving
Kind
Compassionate
Warm
Forgiving
Caring
Supportive…

The human race includes every single one of us on this planet. So why do we dare tear apart what the universe has so specifically and purposfully molded together?

Turn your back on the negativity and evil that seeks to keep you miserable. Instead embrace the goodness and positivity that ensures your every wish comes true.

The religion that bonds us together with a lifetime membership and has no expiration date, is the Religion of Humanity. Once you are born, you are automatically enrolled in it and are now part of the “humanhood”. There is no escaping this religion. There is no denying it either. We are all in it together so how do we help ourselves be the best “humans” we can be? What can you do? Who can you reach out to? What will you do to make a difference for all of us?

Let us use our commonality as humans as the breath of fresh air we so desparately seek to bring us peace. Let our voices unite in a chorus of song that reaches all the ends of the world. Let us embrace our differences, learn from them and teach our future generations how to overcome adversity.

I stand before you as your sister with my arms open wide ready to welcome you into my life. My wisdon, knowledge and love are all at your disposal.

How may I be of service to you, my family?

…and then I was reborn almost simultaneously!

After years of struggling to find and understand my true purpose in life, the time had finally come to do just that. Of course, I had no idea it was coming.

It was a typical day, I was talking to a stranger on the phone and helping her find some understanding in her own life.  She was so excited and I was thrilled.  I smiled and I could hear her smile over the phone.  Ahh, life was good because I had made a difference in someone’s life that day.  So I get home, work out and jump in the shower.  And yes, I’m singing in the shower too. Why wouldn’t I be?

I get out of the shower and all of a sudden my mind starts to wander back to the conversation I had with this woman.  I started to remember some of the things she said to me, like “Dina, I had just gotten home and was trying to figure how to unwind from my awful day at a job I don’t like and then you called me. You’ve put me in such a good mood, I don’t need to unwind. Thank you so much for being such a positive person. I really like talking to you!” My heart started to get heavy. Not in a bad way but a strange way. I had never felt like this before so I kinda just stood there.

Then I remember more.  We talked about how she couldn’t afford to pay me for coaching and I said that’s ok, maybe you could help me spread my message (of confidence) or help me run a workshop, etc. I told her I would love to help women learn new skills and I know she’d be great at it.  She jumped at the idea! “I would love to help you spread your message. What you’re doing Dina is so needed by every woman out there. I’ll do whatever I can.”  This is where I lost it. Tears came to my eyes and I couldn’t stop myself. Here was someone who didn’t know me but knew what my important mission was here on Earth.  I was born to coach women on confidence.  I cried like someone had died. It was me. The old me.

The part of me that was unclear of where and who I needed to be disappeared right at that moment. I started balling my eyes out.  I couldn’t stop.  My heart cried. My soul cried.  All tears of sadness that one chapter was over but also tears of joy that my next chapter had just begun.  Something was different about me now.  I could feel it. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my blood shot eyes. But the eyes looking back at me were unrecognizable.  I didn’t know the woman staring back at me.

Then I smiled. I wiped the tears from my eyes and I knew. I had my purpose and I knew where I had to be and what I had to do. God had created me to help women build up their confidence, not so I could be successful, but so they could be successful. (sigh) My life was never my own. That was clear now.  It belonged to every woman out there who needed me now.  As Mahatma Ghandi said, “My life is my message.” And so is mine.

I tell this story to tell you this, never give up on finding your purpose in life. No matter when it comes to you, young or old, it will be the right time for you.  I am 40 years old and I have just been shown the way. Why now? Maybe because I finally realized it was never about “me”.

If you’re not sure how to find your purpose in life, try these (I did them):

1) Do work you love (and be of service to others while you do it)

2) Help people unconditionally (don’t ask for anything in return-do it because you want to)

3) Free yourself from anger, hate, jealousy, and all negative thoughts (these will only prevent you from reaching your higher purpose, plus they cloud your judgement)

4) Be calm and patient (purpose comes when you are able to handle it maturely)

5) Always do good in the world (find a way to always make a difference everyday because it really does matter)

6) Surround yourself with positive and authentic people (get rid of the those who don’t want the best for you)

7) Believe in the goodness of who you are and what you can bring to the world (find it and hold on to it with everything you’ve got)

If you do these all, your purpose will find you. Trust me!

I may have died 3 days ago but I was reborn a better, wiser and more connected human being. My purpose and my mission are now clear.  So…how can I help you?
